Richard M. “Mark” Porter, 64, Rogersville, passed away Monday, July 8, 2024 in Mercy Hospital, Springfield.


He was born August 29, 1959 in Castro Valley, California , the son of the Earl R. and Lois M. (Procter) Porter. He was united in marriage August 30, 2008 to Lisa Ann Norton. He was preceded in death by his father Earl R. Porter in 2014 and his sister, Renee Porter Young in 2011.


Mark was an Ironworker with Ironworker’s Local 10 in Springfield, working jobs in the local area and all over the Midwest, before his retirement. Following his retirement, he drove the O.A.T.S. bus for the Rogersville Senior Center and attended Fellowship Bible Church in Rogersville. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be greatly missed.


He is survived by his wife, Lisa; his son, Charles “Chaz” Porter and his wife Toni; his mother, Lois Porter; a sister, Michelle Porter; four grandchildren, Corbin, Bryson, Teegan, and Brooks; a step-daughter, Erin Hoemann, a step-son, Bryan Hoemann and his wife Erica; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.


A visitation will be held from 11:00 am – 1:00 p.m., Monday, July 15, 2024 with a memorial service following at 1:00 p.m. at J.D. Lee and Sons Funeral Home, Rogersville.
