Judith A Kelley Obituary

Judith A. (Barron) Kelley, 77, of Wayland, died peacefully and comfortably on Tuesday, July 9, 2024 following a period of declining health due to a courageous battle with multiple myeloma.


She was born in Worcester on September 24, 1946 the daughter of the late John P. Barron and Nettie (Sharp) Barron.


She was the devoted mother of Erin Kauffman and her husband Steve Kauffman of Cranston, R.I. and Matthew B. Kelley and his wife Erin Kelley of Bolton, MA. Cherished grandmother of Allie and Anna Kelley. She also leaves her sisters Dorothy Shea of Worcester, Joan Shompe of ME and Elaine Finneran of Worcester, as well as nieces and nephews. Wife of the late Wayne B. Kelley who died in May 2020.


Judith spent her formative years in Worcester and received her BA in Education from Worcester State College. She pursued her Masters Degree in Education with many on-line courses. She retired after over 30 years as a Kindergarten Teacher at the Lilja School in Natick.


She loved to garden at her home in Wayland as well as wool rug hooking as a hobby. She was an accomplished artist in water colors. She was a member of the Sudbury Art Assoc. where she displayed her works of art.


Judith was a devoted mother and especially enjoyed the time spent with her family. She will be missed by all who knew her.


Visitations will be held on Friday, July 12, 2024 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Road (off Rte. 30), Wayland.


Private family services will be held at a later date.
