Alice Marie Leier Obituary

Alice Marie (Reiter) Leier passed away peacefully with her family by her side at the Heart of America Medical Center in Rugby, North Dakota on Tuesday, July 9th, 2024 at the age of 88.

Alice was born on May 1st, 1936 in Rugby, North Dakota to Joseph and Eblena (Koble) Reiter. She was the oldest of 4 children and grew up near Orrin, North Dakota. On October 4, 1955, she was united in marriage to Albert Leier in Orrin. They were married for 64 years.

Alice was a long time member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Orrin and was active with Christian Mothers. She also spent time teaching CCD on different occasions. Her greatest joys were raising her 8 children, growing a big garden, tending to her beautiful flowers and cooking/baking bread for her family. She enjoyed camping and fishing, especially if her grandchildren were beside her.

In 2012, Alice and Albert moved to Rugby, where she lived until October 2022 when she moved to the Haaland Estates in Rugby. While there, she loved playing bingo, visiting with others and playing cards. Her gentle soul and caring nature will be dearly missed.
