Our sweet, beloved, smartass mom (ma) Gertrude Ann Elsbury, 81, passed away July 7, 2024. Born November 10, 1942 in Charleroi, Pennsylvania, Gertrude moved to Ohio when she was 16. She moved to Lake County in 1963, where she lived the rest of her life! She retired when she was 70.

She leaves behind her daughter, Georgianne McNeil (Kevin), son, Joseph Elsbury (Karla), and daughter Gail Elsbury; her grandchildren, Jeffrey Elsbury (Missy), Erikka Elsbury, Joshua McNeil, Christina Elsbury, Alysha Elsbury; stepgrandchild, Sarah Kinsey (Donnie); step great-grandchild, Cecelia Kinsey; niece, Dannielle Picone (Adam); nephew, Steven Zack (Haidi); great nieces, Hailey Balski (Melissa), Riley Matt; and great nephews, Cooper Matt, Logan Zack and Lincoln Zack.

Gertrude is preceded in death by her beloved grandmother, Frances Stevenson; her mother, Doris Kochis; sister, Terry Zack (Casey); and her beloved son, John Elsbury (Linda).

Gertrude loved her cousins Russ Stevenson, Michael Smoley, Karen Merlino (Ciro), Loralee Haun (Ronnie). And she loved her friends Pam Black (Terry) and Yvonne Bregitven.

Our mom loved the Pittsburgh Steelers, Going Gambling with her friends and family, watching QVC and playing on her IPad

Our mom is no longer in pain. Mom will be greatly missed by all of family and friends. We all love you ma!

Family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 12, at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 6330 Center St. (Rt. 615, N. of Rt. 2), in Mentor, where a Funeral Service will take place at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, July 13. Burial will follow at Mentor Cemetery.
