Claire E. Oliver Obituary

Claire E Oliver passed away on July 6, 2024 at her home in Biddeford, surrounded by family and friends.

Claire was born in Biddeford on February 7, 1950 to Raymond and Gertrude (Fortier) Simoneau.

She was a hard working woman that spent 20 plus years as the manager of housekeeping for the Alouette Motel in Old Orchard Beach.

Claire is survived by her mother Gertrude Simoneau of Arundel; sisters Lorraine Zuniga and husband Thomas of Florida. Rachel Cote and husband John of Arundel; her three children, Tricia Veilleux and her husband Gil of Arundel, Chuck Oliver and his wife Alana of South Carolina, Wendy Libby and her husband Adam of Windham; her lifelong friend Michelle Williams of Old Orchard Beach; five grandchildren Michael Boisvert, Emily Boisvert, Nathan Tarbox, Stephanie Tarbox, and Ephram Oliver; as well as one great grandson Jayden Boisvert. She is also survived by two nephews, Matthew Cote and Justin Cote.

Claire loved spending time at the beach which was known as her happy place. She also had a love for oriental design and houseplants which was always visible throughout the decor of her welcoming home.

Some of Claire's most precious moments were spent with family and friends at her beloved campground, formally known as the Wagon Wheel Campground in Old Orchard Beach.

She most enjoyed the sound of the crashing waves and the smell of the ocean.

She was also very spontaneous and would take her children to Boston where they would go to places such as the Children's Museum and the aquarium.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm with a Funeral Outside of Mass to be held at 1:00 pm at Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm St, Biddeford, ME 04005. A private committal will be in St. Joseph Cemetery at a later date.

Love and memories forever in our hearts. She will be missed by all family and friends
