On July 8, 2024, Brendan Dennis Murray passed away at home. He had just celebrated his 82nd birthday with his family the week before.
Brendan (known by friends as Ben) was the oldest child of Brendan P. and Mildred V. (Sasek) Murray. He was born in Broken Bow, NE, on June 30, 1942. He graduated from Benson High School in 1960, where he met Linda Longville.
After graduation, Ben worked in construction as a drywall mechanic. Ben and Linda were united in marriage on February 3, 1962. He spent his entire career as a drywall contractor.
In 2006, they moved from Elkhorn, NE, to Oakland. Now retired, Ben enjoyed buying properties, fixing them up, and selling them. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, collecting, and spending time with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda, of 60 years; parents and brothers: Dennis, Duane, and Tommy.
Survivors include children: Brendan Patrick (Marcia) Murray; Jean (Marty) Peterson and Paul (Evangeline) Murray; grandchildren: Tyler (Elyce) Peterson; Luryn (Kaleb) Andersen; Matt Murray; Nicole (Ryan) Aupperle; Baird Murray-Wright; Callista Murray-Wright and Iris Murray-Wright; great grandchildren, Barrett and Hagen Peterson and Emersen and Harlow Anderson; siblings: Margaret Wager; James Murray; Robert Murray; Mary Edmonds and Sue Lee.
