William Carl Schultz Obituary

William (Bill) Carl Schultz (71) went home to be with The Lord on Saturday, July 6, 2024. He went peacefully after suffering from a long illness. While he will be greatly missed by all who knew him, we are at peace that he is no longer in pain.

Bill was born in Los Angeles, California on June 6, 1953, and moved to Minnesota shortly after. His family was from the Twin Cities and it is here that he called home. Most of Bill’s life was in Woodbury where he raised his family and was close to family and friends. He also lived in Waukesha, WI and Hong Kong.

In 1971, Bill graduated from Park High School in Cottage Grove. He then attended Mankato State, where he became a paramedic, fostering Bill’s love to serve others. Cementing his love to serve, he joined the Army National Guard as a medic. He represented his country with passion and honor.

After his fire fighter/medic career he joined 3M. He had 15 successful years there and then transitioned to starting up the spinoff company, Imation. After, he became the Vice President of Marketing for DBI/Sala, later becoming Capital Safety. His continued brilliance was demonstrated by the success of the company. He loved marketing so much he formed a consulting business until his retirement in 2019.

While he was professionally one of the best, his true calling was as a husband, father and papa. Bill married Diane Rebertus in 1976. They had one daughter, Katherine Kim Bahr (Matt). In 1997 he married Kim Meck and expanded the family with Kim’s daughters Danielle Meck (Jon Palodichuk/fiancée) and Katie Dalluhn (Joe). He was blessed with 6 grandchildren and his favorite title in life was Papa.

Bill was preceded in death by parents Theodore and Marjorie Schultz and siblings Alicia Hofacker and Patricia Fischer. He is survived by brothers Jack Schultz (Dawn) and Ted (Barb) Schultz, wife Kim Meck, daughters Katie Bahr, Danielle Meck and Katie Dalluhn. Grandchildren Jade Dalluhn, Brody Dalluhn, William Bahr, Bristol Dalluhn, David Bahr and Myles Dalluhn. Mother-in-law Joyce Lehrke, Sister-in-law Kelli Melting (Terry), Brother-in-laws Dave Hofacker and Dick Fischer, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Bill’s love of God, Family, Country and Friends demonstrates the genuinely wonderful man that he was. He loved being with his family and friends and enjoyed their company until his passing. He has left an emptiness in all who knew him.
