James P. Darcy, a longtime area resident, passed away on June 25, 2024 with his family by his side. He was 89 years old.

Born on May 18, 1935, he was the son of the late James and Rita Darcy. On June 29, 1975 he married the former Debra Banks. Mrs. Darcy survives at home. Jimmy had retired as a Manager for the Grand Union, having worked in many of the local stores.

Jimmy is survived by his wife, Debra; his children, Cecilia Yelle and her husband, Steve, Michelle Darcy, Debi Darcy, Billy Darcy and his wife, Cheryl, James Darcy, Melissa Darcy and her husband, Ray Valentine and Heidi Darcy and her husband, Anthony Sokol; his grandchildren, Jason, Emily, Kim, Krista, Nicole, Steven, Amanda, Clayton, Natalie, Olivia, Isabelle, Lilly, Ethan, Sophia and Heather; his many great grandchildren; his brothers, John Darcy and his wife, Maureen and Kevin Darcy; his many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his daughter, Karen Darcy; his sister, Patricia Longenberger and his brother, Richie Darcy.

Family and friends will gather on Saturday, June 29 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Riverview Funeral Home by Halvey, 2 Beekman Street, Beacon. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 2 p.m.
