OBITUARY

STILLWATER - Robt. “Dan” Gibeault, 77, of Dunn Road, Stillwater, died Saturday morning, July 6th at Saratoga Hospital, after a brief illness.

Born in Troy, August 10, 1946, son of the late Robert and Jane Thompson Gibeault, Dan was a 1965 graduate of Stillwater Central School. Soon after high school, Dan entered in the US Army, served with the 24th Ordinance Co in Vietnam for a year, released with Honorable Discharge from active duty as a Sergeant in 1968.

For 16 years, Dan worked for NYS DOT, in the bridge maintenance division. He also had worked a number of years for Bobrick Washroom Equip Co.

A sportsman, Dan enjoyed hunting and fishing, was a member of Saratoga MuzzleLoading Club, the Stillwater Rod and Gun Club, and the American Legion Post 490, Stillwater.

Dan loved his country home, and gatherings of family and friends on any occasion.

In addition to his parents, predeceased by his son Christopher Gibeault in 2019 and sister Cuppy Wilber.

Survivors include his loving and faithful wife of 52 years Deborah Donahue Gibeault, his proud daughter Robyn Mackin of Mechanicville, grandchildren Kasey Krakat and Allie Mackin and great grandsons Blake Meyers and Kane Fisher, sister Mary Jane Marchard of Oneonta and Dan’s lifelong friend Rich Zagorski.

A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday at 11:30 AM at DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, 39 So. Main St., Mechanicville, followed by burial with military honors at Saratoga National Cemetery. Calling Hours at the Funeral Home on Tuesday from 5-7 PM.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the American Legion Post 490, Stillwater.
