Anna Barbara Moore Obituary

Anna Barbara Niles MacDonald Moore, age 103, passed away October 4, 2023. She was born in Kingswood, KY on March 20, 1920, daughter of the late Louis Herman and Ada Driskell Niles. She was always proud that she was born the year women “got the vote” and maintained a lifelong avid interest in politics.  She served as deputy clerk in the Breckinridge County Clerk’s Office for 33 years before retiring and was one of the first women to run for office in Breckinridge County. She loved serving others in the Clerk’s office. When not serving in the public sector, she enjoyed the outdoors, being a good neighbor and being active as a member of Westview Methodist Church and United Methodist Women. She was a former employee of Eleanor Beard Studio and continued using her seamstress skills throughout her life. The many beautiful baby quilts she created and donated through the U.M.W. were a joy to her. She loved her family fiercely and served them selflessly her entire life.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at Westview Methodist Church on Saturday, July 20, 2024 at 2 PM. Please join the family for a time of music and remembrance.
