Rita M. Marsolek Obituary

Rita M. Marsolek, 60, of Whitehall, WI passed away peacefully in her home on July 6, 2024 after her courageous battle with breast cancer with family by her side. Rita was born September 13, 1963 to Roger “Tony” and Ruth (Miller) LaPorte. She was united in marriage to Gary Marsolek, later divorced.

Rita attended Mondovi Schools, graduating from Mondovi High School in 1982. Rita loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, family and friends above all. She was always active and loved to spend time watching the Packers, winning a raffle, reading, quilting and traveling. She was full of life and she would encourage you to share a smile, take the chance, see the sights, and walk the beach to find that next agate or sand-dollar.

Rita will be forever missed by her children Kyle and Kayla (Tyler); grandchildren, Adian and Bryson; her siblings Robin (Steve), Renee (Paul), Roger (Tina), Tony (Gaby) and Leslie and her stepsiblings David (Betty), Lenice (Greg), Sandra (Tom), Dale (Marie), Charlene (Jim), Annette (Scott), Douglas (Sandy), Dan (Kim), Tammy, Cindy (Rick) and Vickie. Nieces and nephews Matt (Chelsea), Dylan, Alton, Shyla, Tryton, Bryce and many step-nieces and nephews, other relatives, and special friends including Roselle, Connie, Tanya, Wendy and Julie.

Rita was preceded in death by her grandparents, parents, stepmother Yvonne, sister Rae Lynn, god-sons Joey and Everett and step-brother Dale.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2024 at the Newcomb Valley Inn, W22768 WI-95, Arcadia WI 54612 from 1 to 4 pm. The family has requested no flowers or plants. Cards and condolences should be sent to her address P.O. Box 273 Pigeon Falls, WI 54760.

The family would like to extend our sincere gratitude to the LaCrosse Gunderson Hospital Oncology department and the Heartland Hospice caregivers for assisting with her care.
