Quillen Elvis Thurman Obituary

Quillen E. Thurman, Sr., 85, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, August 13, 2022. He was born on October 9, 1936 to the late Willard and Edna Thurman. Quillen was preceded in death by his brothers, Gerald and Larry Thurman and sister, Jean Taylor. Quillen was a member of Christ Family Church where he served as Associate Pastor, Elder and Teacher. He was the Pastor for 34 years at Hooker, Georgia Church of God. He loved hunting with his boys and being outdoors enjoying God’s creation.

Survivors are the love of his life for 65 years, Dolores Thurman; sons, Chuck Thurman (Karen), Allen Thurman (Susan), David Thurman (Christy); daughter, Kim Furrow (Lewis); brother, Les Thurman of Texas; 8 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and extended family.

Services will be on Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at Christ Family Church at 1:00 pm with Bishop Calvin Nunley officiating. Burial will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens. Visitation is Tuesday, August 16, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Christ Family Church and on Wednesday, August 17, 2022 from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Christ Family Church before the service.

Flowers can be delivered to Christ Family Church.
