Julie Skaggs Obituary

Julie Skaggs, age 56, died unexpectedly on August 12, 2022. She is survived by her children, Shena (Jeffrey) Rodriguez, Donny (Lindsay) Smith, and John (Ashley) Montgomery; her four grandchildren, who affectionately called her Nana, Anthony, Chloe, Elainea, and Lana; her brother, Lyndin (Kelly) Skaggs; and sister, Juanita (Steve) Albrecht. She leaves behind so many people she loved and considered family.
She is preceded in death by her father, Robert Skaggs; her mother, Jannet Skaggs; and her boyfriend of many years, Tim Boylan.
Julie’s greatest accomplishments were her children, whom she loved with every beat of her heart. She lived and breathed for them and wanted nothing more in her life than for them to be happy. She was always there for advice and opinions, but she also let them find their own way and supported them, no matter what, without judgment.
She faced many obstacles in her life, but she always found a way to keep going, even at her lowest. She took responsibility, righted her wrongs, and wanted everyone to know that she was more than her mistakes. Her strength and resilience were unmatched. She believed in God, love, forgiveness, compassion, and second and third chances. She showed love to people in their darkest hour. She loved without condition. She understood what it meant to struggle, but she never needed much to make her happy.
Julie enjoyed camping, boating, coloring, bingo, rip offs, reading, listening to music, and watching anything on the ID channel. Her favorite color was orange. She had a teddy bear named Rupert that she had for at least 35 years that is amazingly still in near perfect condition. All her kids and grandkids love Rupert and all the stories she would make up about his nighttime shenanigans after everyone in the house would go to bed. Rupert will be in good hands and well taken care of. Julie was a wonderful cook, and all of her recipes will live on with her kids and grandkids.
She is going to be missed beyond measure.
A celebration of life is planned for Saturday, Sept. 3, 2022, at 1 pm at Tempe Taco, 7360 E. Main St. Reynoldsburg, Ohio 43068. In lieu of flowers, friends may contribute to Make-A-Day Foundation at www.makeaday.fun/give in her memory.
