Glen Strickland Obituary

Mr. Glen Strickland, 75, of Panama City, FL, was called home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 16th, 2022. He was a faithful man, who loved the Lord, his family, his church, and his community. He was born on June 30, 1947 in Pasadena, California to parents, Lee & Jean Strickland. He was raised between West Covina, California and Panama City, FL. He was a 1965 graduate of Rutherford High School and went on to receive his Bachelor's degree in Mathematics/Computers from University of West Florida.

He was a builder in Bay County for over 50 years. He started his building career at Kolmetz Construction, where he was a foreman. He then became a licensed general contractor, starting his own construction company, Strickland Construction, in 1981, through which he leaves a lasting legacy seen in his work all throughout our community and even in our surrounding communities. He had a calling on his life to serve the Lord and loved The Rock Church as his spiritual home. He had the heart of a giver and loved to invest into the lives of others in whatever way that he could. He was so active and full of life. He loved spending time with his family and friends, boating, dancing, music, and traveling all over. His infectious smile & laugh & his charismatic personality naturally drew others to him and he made friends everywhere he went.

Glen is survived by his wife, Charlotte Strickland, of almost 41 years; four children: Cory Strickland of Mobile, Alabama; Misty Angelini & husband, Dan of Barre, Vermont; and Jessica Strickland; and Joshua Strickland, both of Panama City, Florida; grandchildren: Madison & Nathan Angelini of Barre, Vermont; and Hudson Bruce of Panama City, Florida. He is also survived by his mother, Jean Strickland of Panama City, Florida; and by four siblings: Jack Strickland (Judy) of Orlando, Florida; Gail Hale (Terry) of Cumming, Georgia; Steve Strickland (Megan) of Ashland, Oregon; and Ron Strickland (Yolie) of Panama City Beach, Florida; by a sister-in-law, as well as many nieces, nephews, numerous other family members, and close friends.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 20, 2022 at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Joseph Gerlecz of Tribe Church (formerly The Rock Church) officiating. Entombment will follow the funeral services at Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
