In the late 90’s he began working as an independent contractor responding to different oil-field related problems in the area until he retired. He fell ill during 2020 and passed away at the VA Hospital in Fresno, California on June 28th, 2024. He was preceded in death by his parents, Pearl and Effie, his wife, Ruby, his older brother Howard, and his younger sister Frances.
