William W. Rohne Obituary

William W. Rohne, 64, of Queensbury, passed away July 6, 2024. Bill courageously fought cancer for four years. At the time of his passing, both his family and his wife's family were by his side, as they kept vigil day and night.

Born April 6, 1960 in Lynbrook, NY, Bill was the third son of the late Joan M. and Robert G. Rohne. The family moved north to Queensbury in 1972. Following graduation from Queensbury High School in 1978, Bill joined the family business, Mohan's Wines and Liquors. Bill was kind to all, sharing his wit and friendly demeanor while taking care of his many friends, customers and acquaintances that developed throughout his 46 years at Mohan's.

Bill was a caring and devoted husband. He is survived by his wife Betsy (Parry) of 34 years, brothers Robert and Kenneth (Kate), aunt Barbara Mackintosh, and nieces and nephews.

Together Bill and Betsy lovingly committed their lives to the many dogs they raised and cared for throughout their marriage. Bill could be found bringing the dogs on trail walks, and together with Betsy taking them to the family camp on Assembly Point to dive off the dock, fetch toys, and swim.

Bill greatly enjoyed spending time with family, especially his nieces and nephews and their children. Lovingly, Bill never stopped being a kid himself. He was full of fun and truly loved by all. He enjoyed hiking, fishing, boating, an occasional hunt, and a competitive game of backgammon with Betsy. As a hockey enthusiast, he always looked forward to watching his beloved Chicago Blackhawks.

Bill thanks doctors, nurses and staff of Albany Medical Center for the expertise, care and compassion they provided.

At the request of Bill's family, there will be no calling hours. A celebration of life will take place at a later date. Please donate to a charity of one's choice. Bill would like that.
