Marjorie Gaylene DeJarnette Obituary

Marjorie Gaylene McCormick DeJarnette, 83, of White Hall, Arkansas, went to be with her Lord and Savior on July 6, 2024. The daughter of the late Virgil McCormick and Della Perkins McCormick, Margie was born January 24, 1941 in Salem, Arkansas. She was a graduate of Manila (AR) High School. She was saved and baptized as a teenager and lived a life that reflected her faith. She was united in marriage to Larry DeJarnette and together they raised three children. Margie retired from the Pine Bluff Housing Authority where she worked as a housing officer for 23 years. Margie spent her life as a happy, dedicated and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, sister and friend. She loved dancing and performed with her friends in the Diamond Line Dancers at many senior centers and other events. She enjoyed tending her flowers and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.


She is survived by two sons, Tim DeJarnette (Stacy) of White Hall, and Kris DeJarnette (Jarah) of White Hall; one daughter Karen DeJarnette of Little Rock; three brothers Ervin McCormick of Manila, Elroy McCormick (Bertha) of Manila, and Jerry (Kimmy) McCormick of Somerville, Alabama; four grandchildren: Ryan DeJarnette, Cory DeJarnette, Chloe Clement and Treyson DeJarnette; four great-grandchildren: Barton, Butler Jane, Bishop and Boone DeJarnette and many relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by twin sons, Barry and Terry DeJarnette; her parents; three sisters: Mamie Miller, Mary Lee Casey, Jonnie Burrow and one brother, James Virgil (Junior) McCormick.


A private graveside service and burial will be at Monette Memorial Cemetery in Monette, Arkansas.
