Robert Earl Johns Obituary

Robert Earl Johns, an Evangelist of the Lord Jesus Christ, who had preached in over 25 churches, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 6, 2024, at the age of 78 years.

He was born on Sunday, November 11, 1945, in Madison County, Kentucky, the son of the late Adam and Iva Lee Kelley Johns. He was a retired roofing contractor and had worked as a Security Guard at Richmond Mall after his retirement. Robert loved Jesus and served him through Harvest Time Ministry Pentecostal Church. He loved playing guitar and singing in church as well as preaching. One of his favorite pastimes was watching Westerns and he loved to wash and wax his car and spend time with his grandchildren.

On December 23, 1966, he united in marriage to Thelma Agee, whom he referred to as “My Baby”. They enjoyed 56 years together until she passed away on May 17, 2023. He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Kenny Johns, James Johns, Helen Ray, Mason Foster, Bud Johns and Norman Johns.

Survivors include one daughter, Lisa Samples, of Richmond; two grandsons, Eric Samples (Savannah) and Steven Johns; seven great-grandchildren, Abby Johns, Jaxson Johns, Wesley Johns, Kylee Samples, Sawyer Samples, Judah Samples and Addie Samples; two sisters, Wilma Young and Linda Rose; a special niece, Vickie Young; several other nieces and nephews; and many friends.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 1 PM Thursday, July 11, 2024, at Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home with Bro. Jeff Jackson and Bro. Owen Moody officiating. Burial will follow in Madison Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be after 10 AM Thursday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Wayne Oliver, Randy Foster, Larry Ray, Steve Parke, Anthony Brinegar and David Renfro.
