Catherine M. Marlatt Obituary

Cathy lived a full life, always surrounded by her large and ever-expanding family.  She was preceded in death by her parents Hattie and Joseph Vukovich, her brothers Joe, Ray, and Lawrence ‘Bud’ Vukovich, sister Lorrie Nacius, son Christopher, and granddaughter Maura as well as several other grandchildren and great-grandchildren who died before birth.

She is survived by Tom Marlatt, her beloved and devoted husband of over 68 years, sister Gerry Knapowski, her children Jeff, Dave, Michelle, Jim, Mary, and Gary, and their partners, 17 grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren (+ 1 on the way).

Cathy was a devoted wife and homemaker, and a cherished and appreciated mother who passed on many great traits and virtues including a love and devotion to Our Lord Jesus Christ. She loved garage sales and was thrifty and creative, always trying to get the most out of all the Lord provided.  She was a quilter and often a generous volunteer in the community. She loved to play games with the family and did not let anyone win without a true challenge and sometimes a sharp tongue, despite which she was known for her kindness, for putting others first, and for being a top-level prayer warrior to whom you could entrust your loved ones’ prayer needs.

She passed peacefully in her sleep at the Gospel of Life John Paul II Dwelling, (GOLD), surrounded by family. After battling a hard and recurring infection and 90 well lived years, she spent her last 2 days, visited and cared for with dignity, mercy, grace, and deep love by her ginormous family and the loving volunteers present.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that your generosity be instead shared with GOLD to further their beautiful ministry of accompanying others on their journey heavenward.

May Cathy rest forever in the peace of Christ. She will be forever deeply missed!
