Karen E Jensen Obituary

Karen E. Jensen age 80 of Edgerton, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Saturday July 6, 2024 at Mercy Hospital, Janesville. Karen was born on January 14, 1944 to Anton and Georgia (Flattem) Sommervold in Edgerton, Wisconsin. She graduated from Edgerton High School in 1962 and later married James “Butch” Jensen on January 13, 1973. Karen most recently worked for and retired from Accudyne Systems, Janesville.

Karen had many “favorites”. While she enjoyed music by Roy Orbison, Conway Twitty and Elvis, she often had the channel set on something country. She enjoyed her sports such as Packers, Brewers, Badgers and NASCAR. She enjoyed puzzles, games like Yahtzee, and church Euchre nights. In her quiet time you could find her sitting on her deck watching for deer or working on stained glass. She loved her family and visits from her grandchildren.

Karen is survived by her daughter Lisa (Bill Purkapile) Stearns, a sister Judy (Carl) Schultz and grandchildren Kerri (Justin Gaver) Stearns, Heather (Nick) Greene, Bobbi (Sergio) Stephens, Kylee Halverson, great-grandchildren Lilli, Bryce, Mia, Eli, Camilla & Caleb, special Niece Bonnie (Mark) Staff, nephew Scott (Karen) Schultz and many extended family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband James, a son Daniel Halverson, and brother and sister-in-law Ron and Judy Sommervold.

Memorial Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday July 12, 2024 at Central Lutheran Church, Edgerton. Visitation will be held from 9:30 until time of services at the church. Burial will be at a later date in Fassett Cemetery. The Albrecht Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, Edgerton is assisting the family with arrangements.
