Richard Murphy, age 82, passed away at Kettering Hamilton Hospital on July 6, 2024. He was born on February 1, 1942, in Hamilton, Ohio, the son of Charles and Freida (nee Marshall) Murphy. Richard attended Ross Schools and was a Train Engineer for ARMCO for 25 years. On September 18, 1971 he married Donna Fannin, and together they raised 4 children. Richard was a member of the Washington Masonic Lodge #17 and lifetime NRA member. He was an avid big game hunter and a professional woodworker. He is survived by his wife, Donna Murphy; three children, Charles, Michael (Shannon), and Kelly (Heather) Murphy; 9 grandchildren, Erin, Dylan, Ryan, Michael, Tara, Curtis, Riley, Logan, and Bryar Murphy; 1 sister, Karen Hurst; and many other loving relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; three children, Patrick Murphy, and his infant twins, Jerry and Jeffrey Murphy; four siblings, Keith Murphy, Marthida Hamfeldt, Cynthia Pillian, and Tamara Lauderdale. A graveside service will be held at 1PM at Venice Cemetery in Ross, OH on Friday, July 12, 2024. Memorial donations may be made to the Shriners Children’s Hospital, Attn: Shriners Children’s, PO BOX 947764, Atlanta, GA 30394.
