Imogene Sheppard Smith, age 96, of Oneida, TN, passed away on Saturday, July 6, 2024, at her home.  Born in Oneida, on November 12, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Nova Jones Sheppard.  She was a born again Christian and was saved and baptized at West Oneida Church in 1967, and also attended Clay Hill Baptist Church in Winfield, as often as she could.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband:  Bradley Ardle Smith; son:  Ronald Gene Smith; sisters:  Hilma Sheppard West, and Mattie Bernice Sheppard Watson-Haddock; and brothers:  Arnold and M C Sheppard.

Imogene is survived by fourteen children, (six sons and seven daughters):   Darrel Smith (Sharon) of Jamestown, David Smith (Becky), Tim Smith (Linda), Scott Smith (Phyllis) all of OH, Ricky Smith (Sue) of Oneida, and Mark Smith (Joyce) of Winfield; Sandy King of Knoxville, Donna Hauser of OH, Sharon Brewster (Stanley) of TX, Rhonda Watson (Don) of Sevierville, Pam Smith (Jr.) of KY, Jennifer King (Dean) of Huntsville, and Michelle Shults (Artie) of Sevierville; twenty-nine grandchildren:  Tony Smith, Jerry Smith, Melissa Smith, Tammy Colborn, Bo Smith, David Jr. Smith, Christopher Brewster, Alicia Alexander, Daniel Smith, Todd Watson, Ryan Watson, Stephen King, Tyler Smith, Nikki Fee, Corey Watson, Cody Smith, Miranda King, Dylan Smith, Lashae Smith, Megan Shults, Jeremy Shults, Makayla Crews, Colby Smith, Destyne Smith, Brooklyn Smith, Craig Roberts, Jason Roberts, Karla Snider, and Brian Atkins; twenty-five great grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren; as well as many other family members and friends.  The family would like to extend their gratitude to two caregivers who were so gentle and kind during the sickness of their mother:  Brenda Smith and Renea Gaddes.

Friends may visit with the Smith family on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. until time of funeral service at 6:00 p.m. at the Bethlehem Baptist Church with Bro. Mark Smith, Bro. Craig Roberts and Bro. Melvin Smith officiating.

Committal service will follow in the Hazel Valley Memorial Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be:  Tony Smith, Jerry Smith, Bo Smith. David Smith, Daniel Smith, Chris Brewster, Todd Watson, Ryan Watson, Stephen King, Cody Smith, Dylan Smith, Jeremy Shults, Colby Smith and Tyler Smith.  Honorary Pallbearer will be:  Corey Watson.
