Thomas "Goose" G. Gatsios Obituary

Thomas "Goose" G. Gatsios, 79, of Canton, passed away on Saturday, July 6, 2024. Goose was born on July 1, 1945 in Massillon, Ohio the son of the late George and Katherine Gatsios.

Goose was a lifelong resident of Massillon and a 1964 graduate of Washington High School. He was an avid Massillon Tiger fan, and also was a three sport athlete while at Massillon in football, baseball and basketball. He retired from Fleming Foods following 31 years of service. Goose was an avid fisherman and hunter and a member of Orrville Farmers and Sportsmans Club. He also enjoyed attending his grandchildren's activities. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. His contagious smile could light up a room any where he was. He was an active member of Canton Baptist Temple.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Rebecca Gatsios, whom he shared 50 years of marriage before her passing; brothers James, William, and Peter Gatsios; and his sister, Angeline Woodside.

He is survived by his children, Michelle (Bryce) Wolfe, and Jason (Kelley) Gatsios; grandchildren, Zach, Tori, Molly, and James; sister, Georgia Rini; and numerous other family members.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 10, 2024 from 4-7 pm at Paquelet Funeral Home. A Celebration of Goose's life will follow at 7 pm. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Orrville Farmers and Sportsmans Club or Canton Baptist Temple.
