Hugh Marshall McMillin Obituary

Hugh Marshall McMillin, age 76, a lifelong resident of Fayetteville, TN, passed away on Saturday, July 6, 2024, at his home after a long illness. He was born in Lincoln County, TN, on January 2, 1948, the son of the late Dalton and Wilma McMillin. 


Mr. McMillin is survived by his loving wife: Janice Williams McMillin; daughter: Denise McMillin (Kevin) Atwood; son: David Lynn McMillin; grandchildren: Tamara McMillin, Reagan Atwood (Austin) Umstead, Emily Atwood, Lindsey Atwood, Kate McMillin, Jake Atwood and Grace McMillin; sisters: Becky McMillin (Jimmy) Smith, Janie McMillin (Bobby) Quick and Carol McMillin (David) Jean; and numerous nieces and nephews.


Hugh retired from Chrysler and immediately went to work volunteering at local nursing homes where he spent time reading to and talking with residents. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, listening to classical music and spending time with his family. He loved God and his family with all his heart. He will be deeply missed by family and friends.


Graveside services will be held on Monday, July 8, 2024, at 2:30 p.m. in Pleasant Grove Cemetery with Rev. Ronnie Gay officiating and Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home in charge.
