Alan Wayne Johnson Obituary

A memorial service for Mr. Alan “Al” Wayne Johnson, age 62, will be held on Monday, July 8, 2024, at Forest Hill Baptist Church at 10:00 a.m. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. with Reverend Tom Leggett officiating, under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Oakdale.


He was born on August 30, 1961, to Lillie P. Johnson and William “Billy” Johnson.


He was a life-long resident of Forest Hill, LA. He left this earth on Saturday, July 6, 2024, for his heavenly home at 3:17 p.m. in Lafayette General Hospital surrounded by his family.


Al leaves behind many friends and loved ones who will miss him dearly. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Joseph “Jack” Giles and Lonie Musselwhite Brady; his paternal grandparents, Arthur and Hazel Johnson; and his sister-in law, Jeanie Dale Johnson.


He was the baby brother to Linda Babb (Jerry), W.E. Johnson, Carolyn Young (Layton) and Charles Johnson (Cecile). He was Uncle Al to Jay Babb, Melissa Babb, Kelly Mix, Amanda Caesar, Stephen Lachney, Billy Lachney, and Kimberly Sillavan.


His quick wit and quirky personality have given us many laughs throughout the years.


We know this is not goodbye!! We will see ya later, Al!!! And like you would tell us “It is, what it is”.  We love you!!
