Lois Whitley Obituary

Lois Smith Whitley of Lexington, SC, passed away on July 6, 2024. She was the daughter of the late Otis Drayton Smith and Idora Lucas Smith.

Lois retired from Olympia Pacific Mills and the Print Shop of the SC Budget and Control Board.

She is survived by her beloved daughter, Linda Whitley Bryant and her husband, Richard, and cherished grandchildren: Mack (Trey) Bayne III, Christopher W. Bayne, Alexander C. Bryant, and Stephen A. Bryant. Lois was also a great-grandmother to Tegan, Christopher, Tyler, Caulder, Landon, Bella, Jackson, Reeves, and Brooks. Additionally, she is survived by her nieces, Nancy Jackson and Ellen Goff who blessed us with their love for Lois.

Lois was preceded in death by her brothers, O.D. Smith, Don Smith, Bob Smith, Norman Smith, and Sam Smith, as well as her sisters, Ada Anderson and Judy Medlin.

Lois loved her flowers and treasured time spent with family. Though she was taken from us too soon, we find comfort in knowing she is now in a better place. She will be deeply missed.

A graveside service for Lois will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, July 9, 2024 at Southland Memorial Gardens, 700 West Dunbar Road, West Columbia, South Carolina. Services are under the direction of Barr-Price Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel.
