Lambert Henry Ebbesmeyer Obituary

Lambert Henry Ebbesmeyer, 86, Lake St. Louis, MO, passed away on July 6, 2024, surrounded in the love of his family. Lambert was born on June 10, 1938, in rural Florrisant, MO, to Leonard and Margaret Ebbesmeyer, nee Haarmann.

Lambert was a member of St. Patricks’s Church of Wentzville, and a former member of St. Joseph’s Church of Cottleville. Lambert married Carolyn Ebbesmeyer on August 25, 1962. Lambert was born on their family farm in rural St. Louis Co, and he had the love of farming in him throughout his life. He proudly served in the Army Reserves from 1960-1966. His calling as an engineer led him to work for McDonnell Douglas for almost 40 years, working on everything from jet engines to the Space Shuttle. He was a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus at St. Patrick’s in Wentzville, where he served as treasurer and assisted with numerous activities. His greatest job was being father and grandfather. He taught his four sons the importance of detail and precision. He taught them the importance of a proper work ethic and how to be patient. But he was always willing to stop and play baseball in their backyard while grilling and listening to a Cardinals game on the radio.

Lambert is survived by 4 children: Steve (Karen) of O’Fallon, MO, Bob (Martha) of German Valley, IL, Jerry (Karen) of Clark, MO, and Jamie (Marie) of Paris, MO; 13 grandchildren: Greg (Karen) Goodwin, Leah (Richie) Knight, Jordan (Rebecca) Ebbesmeyer, Katie (Jeremy) Bennick, Erin (Brenden) Wall, Grant (Will) Ebbesmeyer, Amelia (Andrew) Stone, Charlie (Alex) Ebbesmeyer, Jonathan Ebbesmeyer, Josh Ebbesmeyer, Teddy (Raeann) Ebbesmeyer, Ben (Marlena) Ebbesmeyer, Chris Ebbesmeyer; 5 great grandchildren: Brynlee, Caroline, Kit, Isabella, Elijah, and great grandson due July 2024; two brothers, James (Colleen) Ebbesmeyer of St. Louis, MO, David (Debbie) Ebbesmeyer of St. Louis, MO; two sisters, Ruth (Bill) Vomund of St. Paul, MO, Elizabeth (Larry) Hemann of New Douglas, IL; He is preceded in death by his wife Carolyn, father, Leonard Ebbesmeyer, mother, Margaret Haarmann, sister, Vivian Ebbesmeyer, and brother Frank (Carol) Ebbesmeyer.
