Salvatore Russo Obituary

Salvatore James Russo was born August 19, 1936 in Jamestown, New York and was one of five children to Sebastian and Elizabeth Russo. He peacefully passed away on July 6, 2024 at the age of 87. At the age of 18, Sal joined the U.S. Army's 10th Mountain Division and served overseas during the Korean War. After the war, Sal married Dianne Hower and had two sons - James Michael Russo (deceased) and Ronald Patrick Russo. He worked as a skilled butcher for forty years in Horseheads, New York and Largo, Florida, where he and his wife retired.

Sal loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter, fisherman, and sports enthusiast. He shared these hobbies with both his sons and grandson. Sal was a practicing Catholic whose faith was the foundation of his life - evident to all who knew him. He was a gentle, patient, and kind person who had a positive influence on the many lives he touched.

Sal is survived by his wife, Dianne, and son, Ron. He was much loved and will be sorely missed.
