Oran Mosteller Sr., 84, of Andrews, North Carolina passed away on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at his residence. He was a native of Clay County but had lived most of his life in Andrews. He moved to Woodbridge, Virginia where he worked for Vulcan Materials. Oran returned to Andrews where he worked alongside John Beaver and Nantahala Talc and Limestone. He later finished up his career in Morganton, North Carolina working until retirement for Vulcan Materials. He was a member of Marble Springs Masonic Lodge #439. Oran was a member of Andrews Church of Christ.

He was the son of the late John Franklin and Nona Jane Mosteller. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Ann Mosteller who died September 19, 2012, and a granddaughter Casey Reeves and half-brother, Odell Jacobs.

Surviving are one daughter, Donna Lynn Reeves of North Wilkesboro, North Carolina; one son, Oran Mosteller Jr., of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; special friend, Rozelle Pullium; four grandchildren, Travis, Jacob, Cheyenne Reeves and Oran Mosteller III; three great-grandchildren, Charlotte and Jack Reeves, and Naomi Andrade; also survived by several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was held at 2 pm Sunday, July 14, 2024, in the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Andrews with the Reverend Gary Pollard officiating. Interment was in Valleytown cemetery with Masonic Rites provided by Marble Springs Masonic Lodge #439. The Marble Springs Masons served as pallbearers.

The family  received friends from 6-8 pm Saturday, July 13, 2024, at Ivie Funeral Home, Andrews.
