Funeral services for Charlene A. Crump, 81, of Haynesville, LA will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July,6, 2024, at the Woodland Church of Christ in Haynesville, LA with David Goff officiating.  Private interment will be in Old Town Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home of Haynesville, LA

Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Saturday July 6, 2024, at the Woodland Church of Christ.

Charlene was born January 5, 1943, in New Orleans, LA and passed away Wednesday, July 3, 2024, in Shreveport, LA.

She was a member of Woodland Church of Christ and graduated from Louisiana Tech where she met her husband of 58 years, Clarence Crump, Jr.

Charlene taught 2nd grade at Homer Elementary for many years.  In her more recent year, she aways looked forward to playing cards with friends at Ladies Day.  She also enjoyed attending her grandson’s events as often as she could.  She loved decorating her home for every season or holiday, entertaining her friends and family in her home, and cooking for her family, especially with a crockpot.  She and Clarence enjoyed their many trips to Branson over the years.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles P. Aicklen, Jr. and Winifred Knighton Aicklen Douglas, her step-father, Ralph Douglas, and daughter, Martha Crump.

Survivors include her husband, Clarence Crump, Jr. of Haynesville, LA, daughter, Karen Spence and husband James of Lindale, TX, grandsons, Braden Spence and Cole Spence of Lindale, TX, twin sister, Charlotte Currie of Alvin, TX, and numerous other family members.
