Mr. David Joseph Hulett, age 71, of Milan, Georgia, was surrounded by his loving family as he departed this earth & entered into his heavenly home on Wednesday, July 3rd, 2024, at Fairview Park Hospital in Dublin, GA.
Known to many as Popa, he was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, great-grandfather and truly one of a kind. He shared over 53 years of marriage with his adoring wife, Willa Hulett. His family was his greatest joy, and he cherished every moment spent with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. His dedication to his family was unwavering, and his love for them was his driving force.
A devoted family man, he leaves a legacy of love, laughter, and dedication. He was strong-willed and could be stubborn, but those traits defined David. They were part of who he was, which undoubtedly made him the legend that he is. For over 50 years, David was a skilled autobody repairman, a craft he mastered and thoroughly enjoyed. He founded Hulett and Son Body Shop in Milan, GA, where his expertise and dedication earned him the respect and admiration of many. His shop was not only a business but a testament to his hard work, passion, and countless friendships he formed along the way.
An avid NASCAR fan, Popa found immense joy in the races. His passion for NASCAR was contagious, and he shared his enthusiasm with those around him. Whether watching from the stands, on television or listening to it on the radio as he worked, he relished every moment. If it was race day, all knew exactly where he could be found, his eyes filled with excitement.
He had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to laugh and make others laugh with his antics and sayings that only he could conjure up. His humor brought joy and light to every gathering, and his laughter was infectious. His presence was a source of strength and happiness, and he ensured that every person felt loved and cared for.
David is reunited in heaven with his parents, Mr. Dave & Mrs. Alice Lee Hulett, as well as his beloved sisters, Rachel White, Mary Alice DaSilva, and Leola "Mickey" Piper.
David is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Willa Ree Hulett; his children, Michelle Floyd (Kelly), Davy Hulett (Michelle), Nicholle Hulett (Jt), Danielle Smith (William); his grandchildren, Kayla Farrar (Andrew), Joshua Floyd (Jacob), Chelsea Oliver (Dustin), Brittany Brown (Jerry), Devon Hulett (Bailee), Donte Spaulding, Dayton Hulett, Dash Hulett, Elliana Hulett, Jax Miller Pope, Canaan Smith, and
great-grandchildren which he adored Madison Floyd, Kohen Farrar, Caymon Ross Farrar, Elliott Brown, Emerson Brown, Camden Davis, Adlee Oliver, Jase Oliver; sisters, Nina Gregory, Jeanette Kinchens; brother, Jerry Hulett.
A service to celebrate his life will be held on Saturday, July 6th, at Lowes Funeral Home Chapel at 3 P.M. The family will receive family and friends at 1:30 P.M. just prior to the service. The Rev. Roswell Chapman will officiate. Burial will follow at Milan Church of God Cemetery.

The family asks that if anyone would be willing to share a memory, funny story, or tribute that they please do so. There will be a special time for this during the service. He will be forever loved, remembered and missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
