Denny D. Crooks, 86, Overland Park, Kansas passed away Monday, July 1, 2024 after a brief illness. Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. with a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 9, 2024 at Bruce Funeral Home, 712 S. Webster, Spring Hill, Kansas (913) 592-2244. Denny was born June 28, 1938 to Denver Marshall and Lula Mae (Middaugh) Crooks near Clinton, Missouri. In 1942, the family moved to the farm in Chilhowee, Missouri, where he resided for many years. Denny moved to Kansas City in the 1960’s and was employed by Air Products and Chemicals, Lenexa, Kansas as a truck driver.  He retired in 2000 after 34 years of service.

Denny was preceded in death by his parents; sons Mark and Jack and brother Sonny. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Shirley; daughter Leslie (Jason) Rottinghaus; daughter-in-law Kathy Crooks; sister Barbara Maxwell and grandchildren: Joshua, Drew, Jesse (Alex), Mitch and Meagan Crooks, Katy (Matthew) Lundy and Isabella and Sophia Rottinghaus.
