William Richard Wicks, 66, of Avon, Illinois, passed away at 11:03 a.m., Monday, July 1, 2024 in his home. William was born March 22, 1958, in Canton, Illinois, the son of William Lewis and Delores Wicks. He was raised and educated in Peoria.

Those left to cherish his memory are; mother, Delores Kinney of Avon; brother, George Wicks of Avon; sister, Candy (Jamie) Heady of Pekin, Illinois; uncles, Bob, Ronnie and Steve; aunts, Barb, Dixie and Debbie. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Richard and Beulah Burnett; and his father, Bernard Kinney.

William was a kind-hearted soul and will be missed by those who knew him. He enjoyed watching sporting events and Sci-Fi movies. In his younger years he received his black belt in Karate.

Cremation rites have been accorded with a celebration of life to be held from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Saturday, July 20, 2024, at 300 E. Washington Street, Avon, Illinois.
