Mary Ellen Peters, a cherished mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away on Monday, June 24, 2024, at her residence in Lumber City, Georgia, at the age of 78. Born on Thursday, July 19, 1945, in Cuba, New York, Mary dedicated many years of her life to caring for others as a Certified Nursing Assistant before her retirement.

Mary is survived by her loving children, Jo Ann (James) Boston of Lakeland, Florida; Roberta Louise (Juan) Morales of Spencer, Iowa; Dale (Brenda) Collins of McRae, Georgia; Roland Lee (Jennifer)Collins of Platteville, Colorado; Alvin Eugene Collins of Lakeland, Florida; Theodore Avon (Jaime)Collins of Altamonte Springs, Florida; Simon Jonathan (Kristin) Collins of Lumber City, Georgia; and Dorothy Robles of Raeford, North Carolina. She also leaves behind a legacy of thirty-two grandchildren and forty-seven great-grandchildren who will miss her deeply. Her sister, Susie McCarter of Wellington, Kentucky, also survives her.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Peters; her son, Willard David Collins, Jr.; her parents, Willard and M. Roberta Wilson Martin; two sisters and one brother.

A memorial service to celebrate Mary's life will be held at a later date.
