Barbara “Peggy” Connor Kagle, 97, of Seneca, received her angel wings on June 27, 2024. She was born on March 5, 1927 in Brookville, the second of 13 children of the late Cecil and Coralene Corbett Connor.

As a child, she was a member of Uncle Limber’s Children’s Club which sang on Northwestern Pennsylvania’s Radio Broadcast Station in Oil City.

Peggy graduated from Oil City High School, a member of the class of 1944. She married Chester Kagle on February 26, 1946. They shared 57 years of marriage together before he passed on April 5, 2003.

Peggy was a member of St. Stephen Church in Oil City. She was talented at knitting and crocheting and made many items for family members. Some of her favorite activities were playing cards and bowling. She participated in bowling leagues at Seneca Lanes. She attended the Seneca Senior Center. Peggy spent summers canning produce from their garden and fruit trees. She was proud of her Irish heritage. She enjoyed vacations, especially to Bonita Springs, Florida. Peggy loved animals; she befriended and cared for both domestic and wild animals. She delighted in attending her grandchildren’s activities.

Survivors left to honor her memory are her two children, Steven and his wife Barbara Kaweski Kagle of Ave Maria, Florida, and Karen Sue and her husband David Paich of Cranberry. She was the proud grandmother of three granddaughters, Heather Paich of Durham, North Carolina, Laura Paich Shema and her husband Michael of Bradford Woods, and CDR Abby Kagle Surbella, USN, and her husband TJ of Lakeland, Tennessee. She was blessed with four great-grandchildren, Hailey, Aiden, and Caleb Shema and Adam Surbella.

She is also survived by siblings, Mary Alice Wood of Ohio, Loretta Remus of Mississippi, Nancy Blauser of Oil City, and John and his wife Mary Ann Connor of Titusville, as well as sisters-in-law and numerous nephews and nieces.

Waiting to welcome her into heaven are her parents, her husband, sister Jane Ahrens, brothers Richard, Jim, Joe, and Mike Connor, and three siblings who died in infancy, Shirley, Cecilia, and Billy Connor; brothers-in-law, and her grand-dog, Berkeley.

At Peggy’s request, there will be no visitation or funeral service. The Catholic Rite of Committal with Final Commendation will be held and a Mass Intention will be offered in her remembrance. Morrison Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be left at www.morrisonhome.com. Peggy will be laid to rest at Brandon Cemetery next to her husband.

An Irish blessing: Until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of his hand.
