Donald Place, 84, passed away Sunday, June 23, 2024, at Wesley Health Care Center in Saratoga Springs.

Born August 16, 1939, in Hudson Falls, he was the son of the late Mary (Sherman) and John Place.

He graduated from Hudson Falls Senior High Schol Class of 1957.

Don was drafted by the United States Army, proudly serving his country from 1961-1963.

He retired from General Electric in Hudson Falls after 40 years of service.

On April 8, 1961, Don married the love of his life, Norma LaBarge at St. Mary’s Church in Hudson Falls.

He was a member of the Kiwanis Club and folk group in Hudson Falls for 20 years.

Don was an avid Yankees fan who enjoyed music, cards, casino trips, traveling, nature, and spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, Don was predeceased by his sisters, Marie Zeller, Jean Combs and Lorraine Wooddell; brother, John Place; nephew, O. Thomas Philo; brother-in-law, Edward Warner; sister-in-law, Marie Philo.

Left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 63 years, Norma Place; his children, Clifford Place (Susan) and Kathleen Kuba (Jack Tyminski); grandchildren, Randall Place, Rebecca Place, Shelby Stevens (Joshua) and Samantha Williams (Jordan); great grandchildren, Easton, Nico, and Stella; sister, Lois Warner; along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends and family may call from 2pm to 4pm on Sunday, June 30, 2024, at M.B. Kilmer Funeral Home 136 Main St. South Glens Falls, NY 12803. A funeral service will be conducted following the calling hours at 4pm.

The burial will take place at 11am on Monday, July 1, 2024, at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery 200 Duell Rd. Schuylerville, NY.
