George Peter Dirmeier (aged 62), of Houston TX, found eternal peace on June 21, 2024. George was born in Milwaukee, WI on May 29, 1962 to George Herman and Lorraine (nee Sonchik) Dirmeier, with whom he reunites in God’s loving care. He graduated from Marquette University in 1984 with a BS in Mechanical Engineering and went on to serve as a U.S. Navy officer in Nuclear Propulsion Plan Operations on the USS Enterprise and, later, the USS Truxtun. Living in Houston for 35 years, he worked as an Oil Pipeline Project Engineer for companies including Shell, Universal, Audubon and STV. George loved dogs, comedies, music and - in better days - playing golf and his guitars. He will be dearly missed by his siblings Laurence G. (Dianne) Dirmeier, Barbara J. (Donald) Schmidt, Marybeth (Glen) Fosdick as well as nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held for George on Tuesday, July 30, 2024. The location is the Chapel of the Angels & Light at Mount Olivet Cemetery, 3801 West Morgan Avenue, Milwaukee, Wisconsin 53221. Enter at the Main Entrance to the Cemetery on W. Morgan Ave. Make a right-hand turn (West) at the roundabout. Follow that road as it turns South. The Chapel will be on your left almost immediately after you turn. Please park on the West side of that road, with all of the vehicles pointing South. The Entrance door to the Chapel says “Mausoleum”.

A Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. followed immediately by the Service. At noon, we will do a short procession to the gravesite where there will be Military Honors, and George’s urn will be laid to rest with his Mother and Father. There will be a luncheon to follow - details provided at the Service.
