Almighty God in his infinite wisdom, mercy and grace on June 22, 2024, called Harrison Marshall Wilson from his earthly home to his eternal home to rest from labor.
Harrison, son of the late Raymond and Louise Wilson was born in Amelia, VA on May 19, 1930. He was preceded in death by three sisters, three brothers, four nephews and one niece.
Harrison was united in Holy Matrimony to Evelyn Willis on May 25, 1968. He was educated at Brick Church School in Amelia, VA. He joined Liberty Baptist Church at an early age under the leadership of the late Reverend George Manning, and has been a lifelong member for over sixty years. Harrison was ordained April 21, 1968 and served as past Chairman of the Deacon Board for fifteen years, a member of the Trustee Board for twenty years, Missionary Treasurer for fifteen years, a member of the Willing Workers Missionary Ministry for over twenty years and chairman of the Hospitality Ministry for eight years. Finding joy in serving God and his fellow man, he faithfully served over fifty years at Liberty Baptist Church. Harrison was also a member of Obadiah Bethany Lodge 170 for over fifty years.
A self taught carpenter, store owner from 1955 to 1959, truck driver and handyman, he always loaned a helping hand when needed. Spending time with family and hunting were his favorite things to do. Throughout his lifetime, Harrison honored his mother’s lessons of respect and kindness toward others. His faith in God sustained him to the end.
He leaves to cherish fond memories: his loving wife, Evelyn; two sisters, Eliza Jones of New Haven, CT and Estella Green of Old Bridge, NJ; a host of nieces and nephews, devoted (Margrett Ann Owens); cousins and special friends, William Squire and Charles Jasper.
