Linda M. Gauwitz, 73, of Metamora, IL, passed away at 12:45 pm on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at Washington Senior Living in Washington, IL.

She was born on November 15, 1950, in Jacksonville, IL, to Edwin and Dorothy (Seeman) Schroeder. She married Leslie William “Bill” Gauwitz on April 20, 1974 in Peoria, IL.

Surviving are her husband, Bill of Metamora; daughter, Christine Anello of Pekin, IL; sons, Michael Gauwitz of Metamora, IL and Jeffrey (Sydni) Gauwitz of Washington, IL; grandchildren, Richard (Marilyn) Loudenburg, Gabrielle Riley, Lee Anello, and Mason Flores; eight great-grandchildren; and brother, William (Vicki) Schroeder of Dunlap, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Linda worked as a medical records clerk for Methodist Hospital in Peoria, IL and was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Washington, IL. She enjoyed fishing, crocheting, knitting, and reading. She loved geneology and learning about family history. She also loved cats.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, April 9, 2024 at Mason Funeral Home Germantown Hills Chapel with Reverend Jack Wilcox officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until service time, also on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Spring Bay Cemetery in Spring Bay, IL.
