Pauline Mead Reyman, age 100, of Greenwood, Indiana (formerly of Salem and Danville), passed away Saturday, June 8, 2024. Born October 17, 1923 in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Walter G. Mead and Elsie Mae (Chenoweth) Mead. On March 31, 1945, she married George L. Reyman who preceded her in death on July 29, 2001.
Pauline graduated from Salem High School, class of 1941, received a Bachelor's degree from Indiana University School of Business in 1944, and attended the Indiana University School of Law until April of 1945.
Pauline was a homemaker; a lifelong Methodist and a member of the Salem United Methodist Church; a member of the Beta Tau chapter of Tri Kappa; and a member of the Michael Paul Vandervoort chapter of Colonial Dames XVIIC.
Pauline lived her life keenly engaged in the lives of her husband, children, grandchildren, great- and great great-grandchildren, keeping track of their successes and challenges with much concern and love. She was extremely proud of her family, both the generations preceding and following her. She lovingly embraced friends, relatives and all who were part of her wide extended family. She enjoyed travel, Indiana college sports, poetry, NASCAR and nature, particularly birds. She played piano by ear, and one time received a beer from an appreciative listener while playing Willy Nelson in a bar on a Hawaiian cruise ship. Those who knew her enjoyed her crackling wit and wide-ranging interests, and they loved her dearly in return.
She is survived by 4 children: Lewis M. Reyman (Alene S.), Dale Anne Cantrell (David), Dr. Larry A. Reyman (Marcia A.), and Dr. Debra S. Martin (Nick); 10 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Elsie Mead; husband, George Reyman; 1 brother; 2 sisters; and 1 great grandchild.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, June 15, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Crown Hill Cemetery with her son Lewis Reyman officiating.
