Darla J. Boocks, 83, of Oil City, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, June 19, 2024 at Oakwood Heights Village in Oil City.
Born November 24, 1940, in Blairsville, she was a daughter of the late Fred and Evelyn Helmon Diven.
Darla was passionate about sharing the love of Jesus with others. She enjoyed her time as a Sunday school teacher and serving others in the church and community. She was truly a loyal Servant of God. She was an inspiration to all who knew her, and she is loved and admired by many. If Darla was not sharing her love for Christ, she could be found caring for her family (especially her grandchildren) and making delicious desserts for all to enjoy. Now that she has passed into the arms of the Father, her physical life on this earth is over. But, this is not the end, it is just the beginning of an eternal and beautiful journey.
Mrs. Boocks was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Seneca.
On March 5, 1966, she was married to Thomas D. Boocks, and he survives.
Surviving in addition to her husband are five children, Rick French, Mark French and his wife Renee, Dana Boocks, Diana Allam, and Jody Smayda and her husband Dan; 11 grandchildren, Riley French and his wife Ale, Emily Weller and her husband Mitch, Nathan French and his wife Kelley, Joshua Boocks and his wife Mallory, Courtney Douglas and her husband Rob, Nicole Boocks, Trystin Boocks, Amina Allam, Dylan Allam, Dani Jo Smayda, and Shea Smayda; and 12 great grandchildren, Olivia and Donovan French, Cameron Weller and his wife Grace, Mollie Weller, Ethan and Aidan Boocks, Blake and Seth Douglas, Jaxton Brethauer, Wes and Amen Allam, and Hazel Ross.
