Emma Windham Thompson Obituary

Emma Anderson Windham Thompson, age 70, passed away on Sunday, April 14, 2024. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 17th in Belk Funeral Home Lamar from the times of 2:00pm until 4:00pm.

Emma was born in Darington County on August 1, 1953, she is the daughter of the late Carl Wesley Anderson and Elsie O’Neal Anderson. She worked in the textile industry with Galey and Lord, QVC, and Nytronics which she worked for the longest. Emma was a homebody and enjoyed spending time doing things around the house.

Emma is survived by her husband, Alton “Pookie” Thompson, her children, Carol (Claude) Croft, Pat (Todd) Hammond, and Hillary L. Windham, Jr., grandchildren, Justin (Brittany) Morrell, Clay (Kristy) Morrell, Carl Croft, great-grandchildren, Sawyer, Payton, and Harper Morrell, and her aunts Daisy Windham and Miriam Windham and uncle Harry O'Neal. 

The family would like to give a special thanks to McLeod Hospice for the care they provided Mrs. Thompson.
