William Louis Lisecky, a beloved husband, father, grandparent and great grandparent peacefully passed away on June 18th, 2024 at the age of 91.
Born on May 19th, 1933, in Brooklyn, NY to Giselle and Alex Lisecky. He was an only child and was a devoted son to his parents. He graduated six months early from Saint Johns University and received his MBA from NYU. Between college and pursuing his graduate degree, he enlisted in the Navy for several years where he was stationed in Hawaii. He remained in the Navy Reserve until 1970 and rose to the lieutenant level in the Reserve.
He spent his entire 40 plus year career working for IBM where he distinguished himself for his attention to detail, hard work and integrity.
Outside of work, Bill’s greatest joy was his family and friends. He married his beloved wife Eleanor on February 11th, 1956 and they were married for 61 wonderful years before her death in 2018. Bill was a devoted father to Jeanne (Peter), Bill (Mary Lee) and Patricia, grandfather to Ellen (Christopher), Alexa, Katherine, Jack, and great grandfather to Levi and Leon.
He had lifelong friendships from his grammar school days in Brooklyn. Known as the “Group“, they spent countless times together and every New Years Eve together for over 50 years. Bill was known for his gift of the gab, wit and ability to make everyone feel comfortable in his presence.
Bill is survived by his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, friends and cousins, nieces and nephews. He will be profoundly missed and fondly remembered by all.
A wake will be held from 3 PM to 7 PM on Sunday, June 23rd at Edwards Dowdle Funeral Home and a mass on Monday, June 24th at Sacred Heart Church at 10 AM. Both the wake and funeral mass will be held in Dobbs Ferry, NY.
