Gloria A. Patterson, 82, of Streator passed away Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at the Pavilion of Ottawa.
Private family graveside services will be held at Farm Ridge Cemetery at St Andrew's Episcopal Church in rural Grand Ridge, Illinois. Cremation rites have been accorded.
Born July 11, 1941 in Streator she was the daughter of John and Anita (Dixon) Gwin. She married Scott Patterson on June 17, 1961 in Streator.
She is survived by her husband, Scott Patterson of Streator; sons, Brian (Melissa) Patterson of Carmel, Indiana and Brad Patterson of Frederick, Maryland; a grandson, Spencer Patterson; sisters, Carole Gwin of Morris and Ginny (Mike) McCauley of Streator; brothers, Greg Gwin of Jasper, Indiana and Tim Gwin of Palestine, Texas; numerous nephews and nieces also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Nancy Cole; a niece, Lindsay Gulo; and nephews, Erich Missel, Patrick McCauley and Kurt Cole.
Born and raised in Streator she attended Streator Grade Schools and graduated from Streator High School in the class of 1959.
Gloria lived in Maryland from 1967-2005 before returning to Streator. Through the years she was an accomplished pianist and organist and played for several different churches through the years in Maryland. She also gave private piano lessons in her home having as many as 30 students at one time.
After returning to Streator, she was an organist at the Episcopal churches in LaSalle County.
She was of the Episcopal faith.
