David Lynn Austin, 67, of Belmont passed away June 16, 2024.  He was born November 24, 1956 in Gaston County, son of the late Brice Davis Austin and Pauline "Jean" Bell Austin.

After many years of service, David retired as a Lieutenant with the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 43 years, Linda Adams Austin; his daughter, Amanda Austin Segal and her husband, David; his son, Andrew Brice Austin and his wife, Stephanie; as well as his granddaughter, Alexis Faith Segal.           

A private family graveside service to celebrate David's life will be held at Greenwood Cemetery in Belmont at 2:00 pm, Friday, June 21, 2024.
