Annette Inez Whitehead, lovingly known as Inez, was born on October 15, 1915 in Chinquapin, North Carolina. She was the daughter of the late Luther James Stokes and Flossie Irene (Hill) Stokes.
Inez joined in holy matrimony to Johnnie C. Whitehead and with this union six children were born. She moved to Elizabeth, New Jersey in 1956 and relocated to Roselle where she lived for 30 years until September 2015.
Inez was employed as an Assembler at Mitronics Incorporated in Hillside for many years until she finally retired at the age of eighty-five. When Inez wasn’t working, she loved spending time with family especially her grandchildren. She spent many years mentoring, guiding and lavishing them with love.
She was a former member of New Zion Baptist Church in Elizabeth.
On Sunday, July 29, 2018, Annette Inez Whitehead was called into eternal rest.
She was predeceased by her husband, Johnnie C. Whitehead; five siblings: Joseph Stokes, Osper (Buddy) Stokes, Elethen Stokes, Vascilia Durant and Fairbland Davis; three children: Delphine Peacock, Floyd Whitehead and Larry Whitehead; and one grandchild, Deirdre Palmer.
Inez leaves to cherish fond memories, her three children: Pauline Whitehead of Burlington, New J, Johnny Whitehead of Rahway, New Jersey and Helen Palmer of Owings Mills, Maryland; two siblings: Alfred Stokes of Chinquapin, North Carolina and Madelyn Rambert of Rahway, New Jersey; and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
