Tarlochan Singh Obituary

Tarlochan Singh, 72, passed away peacefully on June 7, 2024. He was born to Lachhman Singh and Nasib Kaur on August 8, 1951, at Shankar, Jalandhar, Punjab, India.


He was raised by his maternal grandparents, Giani Kishan Singh and Swaran Kaur at Jamsher Khas, Jalandhar, Punjab, India.


For education, he went to schools at Jamsher Khas, Jandiala, and Jalandhar.


After high school, he started to farm with his maternal grandfather, Giani Kishan Singh.


The first major turning point in his life was his marriage to Sukhwinder Kaur, daughter, of Pritam Singh and Kartar Kaur of Bhullarai, Phagwara, Kapurthala in 1976.


The year 1993, brought the second major turning point in his life when he decided to immigrate to US to join his father, Lachhman Singh and mother, Nasib Kaur.


He started his new life as a farm worker in Yuba City, CA. He helped his father establish California Agricultural Work Force, Incorporation.


Later in his career, he got the opportunity to work at Naumes Farms for more than fifteen years. In 2012, he decided to retire.


He was a kind, loving, helpful, hardworking, and deeply religious person. He started his mornings and ended his evenings with prayers. He taught and passed on what he had learned throughout his life to his kids and grandkids.


Being an avid student of history helped him accumulate vast knowledge of Sikh History. He was an inspiration and role model for many. His presence and charm brought smiles and joy.


He is preceded in death by his parents, Lachhman Singh and Nasib Kaur.


He is survived by his wife, Sukhwinder Kaur; four children, Sarbjit Singh, Prabhjit Singh, Harpreet Kaur, Taranjit Singh; daughter-in-law, Sakshi Kaur; son-in-law, Harminder Singh, brother, Amritpal Singh; sister-in-law, Paramjeet Kaur; three grandkids, Harnoor Singh, Upkar Kaur, and Himat Singh; uncles, aunts, and cousins.


Funeral services will be held at Chapel of the Twin Cities, 715 Shasta Street, Yuba City, CA 95991, on Saturday, June 15, 2024 at 11 am.


The Bhog of a Sehaj Path will be at the Gurdwara Sikh Temple Yuba City, 2468 Tierra Buena Road, Yuba City, CA 95993, after the funeral.


The warmth of his presence will be missed.
