Craig A. Catton, 65, of East Peoria, passed away at 8:14pm Sunday, June 9, 2024 at Carle Health Methodist in Peoria.


Surviving are his mother, Helen; his fiancee, Karen Blair; his children, Stephanie Catton (Kevin), and Allen "RJ" Catton (Kaylea); his step-son Justin Blair (Addy); his granddaughter Adalei; step-grandson, Austin; siblings, Rollie (Karen) Catton, Rob (Debbie) Catton, Curt (Sharon) Catton, DeeDee (Ron) Jackson, and Jodie Catton; and his nieces and nephews.


He was preceded in death by his father, Robert; brother, Raymond; ex-wife and mother of his children, Annette Catton; step-son, Jeffery Blair, Jr.


He was born June 4, 1959 in Peoria to Robert and Helen Ludolph Catton. He graduated from Washington Community High School and went on to attend the police academy. He served with the Tazewell County Sheriff's Office for 30 years, retiring as a captain.Craig had a big personality and never knew a stranger. He loved to bowl, rolling several 300 games and was inducted into the Peoria Bowling Hall of Fame in 2010.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, and riding his motorcycle. His favorite teams were the Packers and Cardinals. Most important to him was his family. Craig loved spending time with them all and enjoyed a close bond with them.


Visitation will be 2-4:00pm Sunday, June 16, 2024 at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington. A service will follow at 4:30pm. Cremation rites will be accorded and a celebration of life will be from 1-5:00pm Saturday, June 22, 2024 at VVI The Bunker in Washington.


Memorial contributions may be made to the Illinois Police Benevolent and Protective Association.
