Ernest Hugh Epley Obituary

It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of Ernest Hugh Epley, who left us on June 11, 2024 at the age of 88. Hugh was surrounded by his loving family and friends in his final moments. Hugh was a pillar of strength and a beacon of love, his absence leaves a void in our hearts. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Kitty, as well as his children Kim (Eldon) Miller, David Keith (Luann) Epley, Matthew Epley, David Michael (Celina) Epley, Troy (Nichole) Epley, 9 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren who will continue to honor his legacy by living their lives to the fullest. Hugh was preceded in death by his son Brian Epley.

At the age of 18, Hugh enlisted in the United States Navy. He valued this service highly, and attained the rank of Chief Warrant Officer. Hugh retired after serving his country for 30 years.

Hugh was also a Crimson Tide fan and unapologetically loved his Alabama football team.

To commemorate his remarkable life and the memories we cherish, a service will be held at Hollomon Brown Funeral Home, Great Bridge Chapel on June 15, 2024. Visitation will begin at 11:00 and the memorial service will immediately follow. Interment will be private. We welcome all who knew him to join us in celebrating the life of a man who was loved deeply and will be missed.
