Terry Anders Olson Obituary

It is with sorrow and hearts broken that we announce the passing of our husband, father, and Papa, Terry Anders Olson, on November 24th, 2018.

Terry was an only child born to Anders T. Olson and Nanny T. Olson on March 27,1943 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He attended Hopkins Public Schools, and graduated in 1961.

Terry served proudly in the USS Navy for four years. While stationed in San Diego, his ship, the USS Gurke, was the first ship that transported US Marines to duty in Viet Nam.

Following his discharge from the Navy, Terry reconnected with Barbara, whom he had known since they were seven years old. Barbara and Terry celebrated 52 years of marriage. They were blessed with two sons, Brent Anders (Paula Rothkopf) and Craig Allen (Krista Smith), and three adoring grandchildren, Annika Liv, Anders Tor, and Carina Ingrid.

Terry worked at Boeing as a Flight Engineer for over 30 years. His many friends there were especially dear to him, and he cherished those years and the friendships developed together. He was also active in youth hockey and coached for Eastside, Greater Seattle, and SnoKing AHAUS. These were traveling teams, and Terry and Dan Hathaway made weekly trips to Canada for many years. He also was an enthusiast of cycling and rode the STP several times.

At his request, there will be no service at this time. A private service will be held in the spring. If so desired, the family would appreciate that donations, in Terry's memory, be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital. We will always love you!!
